I'm posting a picture of "RACER" taken at the Lake George, New York Marathon, 1960. This photo was used by APBA to promote BOAT RACING. SCOA used it on the Winternationals T shirts....
As a died and gone to heaven kneeldown racer, this is my all time favorite picture.
I honestly don't know much about Racer Allen's history, I'm hoping someone will post stuff...Like maybe Bill Allen Jr.....
I do know Bill's first D RUnabout National Championship was 1976 at Hinton, West Virginia...
ADD TO RACER: I'd love a copy of this, autographed by you fopr my Shop's wall....or maybe for the Prop Museum's wall...

Noticed recently in a Boat Racing Facts post that you would die for
a copy of this photo. So; thought I should accommodate you! Saw Racer
Allen at Crystal Lake a month ago and he commented that the pic was
taken at Lake George Marathon in 1960. Have had this photo for years;
it was part of a portfolio put together for race promotion during Bob
Wanamakers years of APBA political involvement.
