Can a solid brass prop have it's hub diameter increased from 1" to 1 1/4"? This is a solid brass inboard prop. No rubber hub.

You mean the shaft size? If so, I would think so without a stress problem. Prop makers make the hub for various sizes, including larger than only 1 inch.

I have gone to a 1 1/4" shaft from a 1" shaft on a solid brass keyed inboard prop. Can the brass 1" hub be cut out to 1 1/4" with the existing key way?

If you will need to cut a new keyway after boring the hub to larger I.D, that can be something to question as far as possible stress cracking at that point. Factors to consider are.....

- load: racing, towing, big boat? light boat? High horsepower and/or torque?

-Material: is it just brass or is it nibral?

-and Hub wall thickness, just to name a few.

The safest bet would be to find a local or nearest propeller service shop and let them determine based on the following points.

Agreed, but understand that the prop manufacturer has that in mind when they designed the prop for a range of shaft diameters, one inch being about the minimal for that size prop, and 1 1/2 around the maximum.
