4 stroke gearcase on a 2 stroke outboard

Does anyone know if a 4 stroke gearcase will fit an older 2 stroke outboard. Specifically a yamaha 90hp? Trying to get away from the older 2 stroke 90 cases that are known to crack around the hub.
