We have sold a lot of Bravo 3 4 by 4 propellers. Most of the time, though, people can't get out of the hole as fast as they'd like and they aren't hitting near their top end RPM. If your 24 3 by 3's are getting 4,750, you may not be able to improve your speed. Generally, 2 inches of pitch is 400 RPM. So, if you went to 26's, your RPM's would be too low. My calculator: 4,750 X 24 = 114,000, 4,350 X 26 = 113,100 So, 26's would be slower. I know our 4 By 4 come out of the hole better, and save gas at cruising speed. But 24 pitch at 4,750....3-4, or 5 blades will be close to the same speed.

I BOUGHT SOME OF BOB'S CIGAR BOX GUITARS THE OTHER DAY. WHEN HE DELIVERED THEM, WE TALKED ABOUT CROWNLINE. He said they built 41,000 boats from his designs.

Bob's dad was Art Carlson who built the Carlson Boats and the Glastron Carlson's.
