I am sorry to report Veteran Racer #77 Mike Wilson suffered a stroke yesterday 12/13/05. He is resting comfortably and recouperating in Sutter General Hospital in Sacramento and hopes to be home shortly to begin in house rehab.

Anyone who has raced in both Region 11 & Region 12 has come in contact with Mike and his presence and effect has been felt by both regions The veteran racer who is still active in both driving and organizing racing with his club in Region 11 and a personal friend whom I reverently consider one of the "elder statesmen" of boat racing that still shows the younger SST-45 racers a thing or two while on WFLS tour! On behalf of SCSC, RPM RACING ENT., the WFLS and all of Region 12 racers we wish Mr. Wilson all the best on a speedy recovery!!!!

If you wish to send cards or call him (remember he needs his rest so find out from kris when the best time to call is) here is the information:

This is the update received from Kris today (12/19/05)!

All,

I just wanted to thank everyone for the phone calls, emails and support given to my father.

He is in acute rehab in Auburn for the next 2 weeks. He has nearly 100% paralysis on his left side. They say the next few weeks of recovery are critical. He is working very hard to get his independence back. Keeping his spirits up and motivation high is key right now. If you are in the area, a visit and or words of encouragement will go a long ways!

I received this today from Kris Wilson:

Thank you all for the calls, letters, emails and visits and please keep them coming as it helps tremendously!

Mike's New Location is listed below. He is making a slow recovery and
needs about 50% assistance to walk with a cane. Our Goal is to give
him
his independence back so he can go home! The doctors are thinking he
will be at the new rehab facility for another 2-3 months. Thanks again
for all your support.
