I am curious about the 1968 OMC race motor which some of the factory guys used to call the 'O.S.S'. This motor bridged the gap between the GT10s and the KC13R. I believe there were only a handful made for factory drivers but I think a couple wound up out in the general racing public (I saw someone run one at the mod 90 nationals in Sioux City, Nebraska in 1977). I am particularly interested in the exhaust stack design (which looked like a couple of steel tubes that were aimed straight down and still fit under the shroud) and any other interesting mods. Does anyone have any first hand knowledge of this engine? Does anyone have an engine they can take some photos of?

I know about the same amount you do Bill. The model names listed in the spec sheets for them are WCC-10S for 14:23 lower units and RHS-10S for 1:1 lower units. GR-10S is listed as the 89ci 1:1 motor equivalent to the GT-10S.

There is a guy in East Hartford Ct named Bob Zipps that has a wealth of knowledge on OMC race motors. Would be worth talking to him. If interested, E mail me at teammsr@comcast.net and I will get you in touch with him.
