If your driving a D-Mod Merc 40 cube and you want to see performance with a difference with some similarities between using your constantly temperamental Carter Model Ns and you not at all temperamental Tillotson KA7As, these Tillotson KC6As are for you and superior in performance than the N or 7As by a bit and quite noticeably so. Using/installing the KC6As as is as, they bolt down to a Tillotson KA standard stud placements on your crankcase front, with the screw in high speed jet it came with or converted to a rotating adjustable high speed needle system (shortening the top needle a bit to clear the magneto housing), you have a carb that has amazing throttle response that pulls the entire high-mid to high/max range revs and with power that has a feel to it something like the Carter without its temperament or the Tillotson that can present accelleration flat spots.(Carter Ns were installed on all early Mercury Mark 55Hs as well as Mercury Mark 20Hs).

The following pictures are their typical installation on a D-Mod(ed) Mercury Mark 55H-1. A very easy install with throttle wire pickup set up, for the bottom carb, off the bottom carb butterfly shaft.

These KC6A carbs came typically on Merc 800 - 6 cylinder pleasure/ski/fishing engines. Anyone else been trying these KC6As on for use on D-Modified Mercs?
