Was looking for something, and found these pictures and article from May of 1970...

The blurred "CLOSE UP". I think is Bobby Witt from Baytown, Texas...

This was when JIMBO was still Jim in the OPC World...

DeSilva took first place...Jerry Walin and Alan Stinson were the drivers...

Freddy Hauenstein didn't hit a log, the bottom gave out...He had the race wired....

We raced for 9 Hours. Bobby Witt had basically lead 9 hours. Alan Stinson and I passed Bobby on the last corner. Stinson beat me by one foot. The only foot he lead all day.

Bobby Wiit's co-driver was Jerry Craig also of Baytown, Texas.
My co-driver was Dewey Berghauer from Wisconsin.

Alan Stinson's co-driver was Jerry Walin...

At one point all three leads boat were dead in the water...

Anyone bring this thread up to date?

2011: GN with Greg Gluck, I think.

2010: Joe Abellera with a 2.0 Liter Mercury Outboard.

2009: Gary Hairbinian Schida Turbo

Spell is probably wrong....but I think this is right!

Herring and Molinari won the 1977 Parker event driving a CCC powered Molinari (#457). I have this boat and would like to see pictures to prepare for the restoration. If someone has a "spare" CCC lying around I could use that too - lol. Any help would be appreciated.

I should know the year, but have forgotten, but Bob drove all nine hours of the Parker 9 Hour Enduro and won! I'm thinking it was 1965.

Thats kind of a weird picture
Look in front of the #'s The nose and chine line don't match (Looks like a sponson hanging down)
The hull at the transom the chine looks like it wider than the bottom
You can see the turn buckle must have had a curved transom or at least a notch at the rear corners
Got to love the leather straps on the helmet

I should know the year, but have forgotten, but Bob drove all nine hours of the Parker 9 Hour Enduro and won! I'm thinking it was 1965. Bob also drove all 9 hours at the Orange Bowl Regatta and won there as well.... He earned the nickname "Iron Man" for that one. He had a little help, for what it's worth. Bob had developed a shock mounted seat for the boat that he claimed made the ride much less arduous. Bob had access to his vast aircraft galley manufacturing facility and created some interesting things over the years including his "non bucketing" helmets. I was on the North American Championship Commission one year with Bob, Charlie Strang, Joe Gimbrone, and others from Canada and Mexico. We spent 3 or 4 days in Mexico City together and enjoyed a lot of meals with Bob and Ellie.... Later we worked together on Gary Garbrecht's original (early version of the Lavin Foundation) safety committee. He was a very interesting and compelling guy who (like a lot of us) accepted one point of view....his own, but he really knew his stuff, as proven by his race record.

Brian Daley and Rick Hoffman dove a Seebold tunnel hull with a Ted Zahorski Yamaha V-6 to second overall at the 9 Hour, many years ago. They ran out of ga or would have won easy, they ran a "CLUB FOOT" with a nose cone, didn't even have a Speedmaster.

This year at the Blue Water Resort and Casino 336 sponsored by Teague Marine, we may see another Yamaha at the "FRONT" of the pack. Sea Witch Marine of Vista, California is entering a 250 HP FOUR STROKE YAMAHA ona Sleek Craft. 336 miles ain't like the "OLD DAYS" when we raced 9 hours...but it is great to see new motors in the race.
