Side note for photos above:

Boat #201 (a Gran Prix) was Rick Hoffman, who also briefly drove for Garbrecht's Second Effort V-8 team
Boat #531 was Gary Garbrecht's son Alan (in a Bob Carlson designed "Bob Cat")

Boat #5 was (of course) Gene Thibodaux

There you have it folks the entire Second Effort Catilog from the late 80's vol.3 edition. Enjoy looking.

Note: Second Effort is no longer in buisness. Most of the part #'s listed are N.L.A. (NO LONGER AVAILABLE) from "BPR" (Bombardier)Evinrude/Johnson. Some parts are still distributed by "Sea Way Marine" out of Washington State.

This thread is only to help preserve the history of "Second Effort Perfomance"

Thank you so much for this priceless catalogue. It was good of you to post it page by page. I did not realize that there was such a range of modifications available for so many OMC engines. Just a small point. I have noticed that there is no page 28. Was it missed or just a typo. Thank you once again.
Ken.

Ken, there is more Second Effort stuff on Screamandfly's Gallery section. Greg also has some in the full race section .... the link to it got buried in a server transfer, I'll try to dig it up.

Tom, you have a PM from me regarding an image on another thread.

Hey Mate- great site from Down Under. Bet you don't see anything of these OMCs in Jackson Harbor, especially on weekends.

I raced the old Speedifours/Speeditwins and Johnson POs in the '50s, but, ran Mercs in the '60s. My heart still is with the old OMCs. :D

Keep up the good work and all the best.

Tim; .......................................I never had any "fond memories" of prices at second effort, do you know that as soon as the high performance parts went to second effort , prices sky rocketted. a mod 50 flywheel went from $350 up ..........to $1400 ! and other parts accordingly. i never bought any more omc high performance parts , after second effort took over .

So, what ever happened to the SE specialty item castings. Such as gearcase, pistons and lots of other stuff. Are they now owned by SEA-WAY. Or did they just drop off the face of the earth?
