Last year, at the Enduro, my friend John Vossmeyer and family, patrolled he entire Enduro. They were the ones that pulled boat 305, Plan B in...and Plan B, later won.

I've known John since before he was married. He moved my air conditioner at my Irvine house in 1975. He has grown daughters, now. I sold my wife's boat to his sister, in 1984-85..they still have the boat.

The weather was bad the week before the Enduro and John and all decided not to attend, this year....Last year, Chad said everytime he went around the Badnoch's corner, the Vossmeyer's and crew, cheered him on from their dock.

I got this note and pictures from John today, seems maybe he won't miss next year's race...

Thanks, John. You've been a true friend for years...

ADD: Who is that 819 boat???

John Lane had a great time running Nostalgia, last weekend...We'll have Pat's boat going by Bakersfield...

You coming to the rules meeting.....???

They put your picture in there because they knew you were faster than us...

I'll be at the meeting...and fast for 7 laps doesn't matter at a 30 lap enduro. When I asked at Parker, Ross said he wasn't sure if we could run nostalgia yet. What class did Jonnie run?

John had a great time. I talked to him yesterday. He's ready for the next go around. We'll have Pat Bowman in one by Bakersfield, next March....If John E. Lane ever gets my block re-sleeved....

Ron, I had to write a response to this after I saw it was in regards to our good friend John (or as my family and I like to call him Johnny). Ive know that man for my entire life. The majority of things I know about performance boats Ive learned either from him or my uncle (Mike Curtin). I just want to echo your opinions on the man and his character along with his family. He truely is a great guy.
