i was wondering if this would be good to purchase to make into a racing leg for my 400m that way i would't ruin my leg and i could always go back
also it has all the mounting holes and clamps there just got to get rid of the dyna float system:) im new to racing so please let me know if i have no idea what im talking about btw i love working with metal so that helps:D :D

Christian, This is gonna cost a few bucks to ship. I want you to be sure you want it. It weighs 36lbs. So it will easily weigh 40lbs after packing. I'm having a hard time calculating shipping cost. Are you sure you sent me the correct zip?
Send me your personal Email so we can continue this more easily. Then I'll send you more pics.
Thanks. :)

If you're going to use this piece, you better figure on finding a set of stacks.

the set Jeff has for sale on Ebay will probably be the cheapest (at current bid) that you will find a set of stacks for. New ones can cost upwards of $1000:eek:

mercguy

What are those $1000 stacks  made of - gold plated titanium?

that is what a set of Parker stacks cost w/nickel plated megaphones fit by Tim Kurcz. That is what they cost me for the 44 I was building and very close to what they cost for my 30 Merc I have, which do not have the nickel plated cones.

I was wondering if Tim actually sold any.

There are others available; I have no idea which ones work best on the 4's. I do know which ones work best on the 6's.

I have bought (2) sets in the past and know of a couple more, but probably not as many as he would like to sell, hence the higher price. I know there is alot of machining he has to do to them, once he gets them from being cast. Anyhows, they seem to work great on my C Merc and I know one screamin' fast 44 guy on the east coast that has them also..........

they worked better than the Steven's setup I had (30 and 44)..........and some "Steven's" diehards switched over to Parker also.........but guess it all depends on your motor and porting, etc.......it seems to be all a crap shoot, like props..........

Or at least cut an exhaust hole in it ...

Stock 44 can be run in D Mod as long as it has no mods to ports or extenal exhaust, too bad most courses are so short.

Merc and Bass to name a couple. Just some info, "if" you are "thinking" of wanting to race mod, it would be much cheaper to buy a complete used mod engine than building once from scratch (using your powerhead). The cheapest racing lower unit you can buy is a "stock" Yamato 302, costs about $470, which does not have a water pump, otherwise expect to spend upwards of $1000 or more........

if just for play, stay away from open stacks or you are gonna get kicked off your local lake/river/etc...........due to noise..........

Quote,, if just for play, stay away from open stacks or you are gonna get kicked off your local lake/river/etc...........due to noise.......... End Quote,,

When you start a motor with stacks you dont need to tell em to hold their ears, theyll sqweeze the sides of their heads automaticly  lol. Even little 2 bangers are way loud. An adapted motorcycle type tuned exhaust?? [still gonna cost to get a good result and as said again - a crap shoot.

A Bass foot is real good but the pump is in the tower, then you need precision machine work. $$$ The Merc D foot ?? Id be patient and vigilant about all this. A stick tower for shipping?? It dont get better than that if you can do it. ;)

C'mon man, you ought to know that...:p

Here's a sound file from Beloit Wi a while back. I was racing against a couple stock 44xs's and another 44mod. The other mod had supertrapp mufflers on his pipes, so I was the only real loud (and fast)one.
These were the pipes that I just sold on eBay.

In NBRA , i forgot to say the 40s are mostly modded up but stock 44s can also run in D, 44 mods run in E in this org.
