Fred E. Petter was Commodore of Midwest Power Boat Association when I started racing in 1956. He continued as Commodore for about the next ten years. Then he moved over to become Commodore of an inboard club, Northwest Power Boat Association. Later he formed a Pro Outboard Club - Pro Spirit America. Eventually moving from Minnesota to Los Angles. He was a tireless worker and headed MPBA during its "glory years" with as many as 16 races in a single season. Fred was also a leader in the introduction of the alcohol burning factory built Mark 75H, purchasing two of them himself and reintroducing the F Class into MPBA. The first photo is Fred as a young driver with a 40H (KG-9??) on a Neal hydro. The other is Del Compton with a sister rig to the two of Fred's, a 75H on a Wilson cabover - Tim Chance September, 2007
