Well race teams, it seems we go through this dance every year and this seems to be no exception, with roughly one month away and 10, yes 10 pre-registered paid entries.

The rules have been up since April/May and the FAQ has seen some banter but now it is truly time to put up or shut up!

Here's the deal and make no mistake I am very serious, we have 10 entries as of today 9/19/07- If by 9/25 I don't have at least 35 paid entries in my hands I will be forced to cancel the event. You see, I am not looking to do this or any other race at a loss and my expenses have gone up so 35 is my breakeven point.

You must pre-register completely with check payable to RPM RACING ENT.

I am still mystified as to why with all the information on this messageboard regarding the race, ie: rules, FAQ, entry blanks, etc. everyone either waits to the bitter end or finds an excuse to back out.

If I cancel the race all monies will be refunded to the entrants. Let's hope it doesn't come to this but really this is becoming ridiculous.

Any questions regarding the entry, email / call me (310) 318-4012, Rules questions contact Rod- see "BWRC Official Rules" Thread.

Thanks,
Ross Wallach, RPM RACING ENT.

We practically "paved the way" for the jet boats in Division I, now where are they? I must have answered a dozen or more questions, in fact, there was even a thread titled STUPID QUESTIONS. These came from a tri-hull out of Texas. Have we received his entry? Hell, we had 10 guys paid to get their picture on the poster, where are they? How about the guys out of Minnesota with the big twin outboards? It seems like I have been getting a ton of calls with questions, and support for the race, but no entries. The next call I get, I am going to ask the first question and it is going to be HAVE YOU SENT YOUR ENTRY IN YET???If the answer is no, I will ask the second question, WHY NOT ??? If the answer is not satisfactory, it will be the end of the conversation!!!Maybe boat racing really is a RICH MANS SPORT and I am trying too hard for the LITTLE GUY:confused: Rod

I want to race... My boat isn't even running yet and I'm apparently one of only 10 to register???

I guess that means I can crack the top ten even if I can't the lower unit back!!!

You got it wrong Richard. What Ross does is not a job! It is out of love for the sport and the only losers are the racers themselves when they refuse to do their part. I have worked on this race for three years now and it looks like this is a dying effort! I certainly don't consider my efforts a JOB! I do it to try and save a sport I have lived with for over 50 years. There is no pay back, there is simply satisfaction. I certainly hope we can pull this one out! :) Rod

Richard,
99% of what I post is very positive, this one happens to be neither, just factual, if that is taken as a negative then I must apologize. I have a race to promote but it seems all the talk and funnin around on this and other websites/messageboards don't lead to a whole lot of committment. Sorry if this offended you but please tell me another way to get through to the racers without offending their delicate sensibilities? BTW, since my post 2 more came in the mail and lot's of call's and email telling me it is on the way, well, we'll see.
I will post an updated list by tommorrow (hopefully after the mail arrives.)

Ross has anybody stepped up to sponser this year? I figured some of the high rollers would want to throw a little love at this thing & get some exposure??? Same **** different year... Well let me know & if not then it looks like
another beautiful presentation by Marrone Plumbing!:D I was hoping that it would fly on its own like a baby bird... guess we will have to kick it out of the nest, fly or die!:(

It seems that after last years event, a lot of people wanted to step up and be a part of the race to get some more exposure and mileage from the race. However after speaking with these people for the past 11 months none have given a firm commitment to be a sponsor of the event. Ben you and your family have been the backbone of support for this event and I appreciate everything. Whatever anyone want's to do at this point would be great!
Thanks,
Ross

......is kind of a standard. My Dad and I experienced much of what is going on here. But back when I was racing, there were still enough racers to show up and make a good field. Having been involved in putting on events I know the frustration. Who else is going to put forth an effort if all you get is a handful of dedicated racers in a desolate pit area waiting for no shows. Think about how the guys that spent so much time and money out of their own pocket feel when the five minute cannon fires, or the Le Mans starting flag is up and only five answer the call. Doesn't make them want to come back and try again.

I hope there is a last minute rush. Racers just too busy to send in the entry form. I know I am bad about that. I have enjoyed reading all the chatter and results from BWRC from the outset, and I would hate to see it all go away when things seemed to be going great. It was because of BWRC that I rejoined APBA after 24 years and looked into finding a way to get my son into racing. Sadly, that didn't happen because we are too far away from any racing. But there still is a lot of racing going on out that way. I am hoping that the teams that were talking about coming will come through and make the race. I have read every comment and have thoroughly enjoyed this Blue Water Casino thread and would some day like to come out there for the event if you guys would show up to keep it going.
