How about Lou Morphy's wife 'Boots'? Well known in the early fifties until shot by 'Shooting Star'! She race 'M' Hydro, and had her helmet and life jacket on from first light until they got in the car to leave. Husband even drove his C Service Runabout at Long Beach by the carburator horn after his steering cable broke! What a PAIR.
