A Nordic inboard won the overall, at least that is the way it was announced. I left before the awards deal.......I'm sure Ron and/or Ross will post the entire results as soon as they can. The awards deal didn't start until 6PM so they are probably still on the road, or staying another night.........MP

Al ran #55 in the Enduro, from what I understand team #555 was a Liberator 21' with a 200Merc (Joe)? nothing official yet. When I heard #555 I thought maybe Al had won it... Glad none the less that an OB took it again.

Teaser Parker 300 Video

I will post more info later as I am beat-up, and I only made it 85 miles or so. I stole the video off HotBoat. The boat was in my opinion very close to perfect, but to keep up out there I was spinning 5300-5500rpms and the engine could not hang. I am very happy with the performance during the race, my best lap was 3.14, thanks for everones help.

I'm posting this on this sight so everyone can read it. As we were walking up to pick up our envelope and plaque for third in div 5 my son told me NOW it was time for the the trash talk.....So here goes

Thanks to everyone who helped put on this event. Thanks to old freinds (our crew) who worked their tails off. Thanks to all those in Div 5 who broke and made this happen.......

Most importantly thanks to my son who gave his old man the chance to re-live his younger days.. It was a wild ride, but the most important words came after the race when you said "we finished"

Lets do it again next year if our wives will let us

Love you son

Looks like it was a great race.

Amazing how many unexpected, unplaned things go wrong/break when you punish your equipment and yourself that hard!

Great job and congrats to all who made the attempt.

There were a lot of "COULD OF's, SHOULD OF'S and WOULD OF's....Like all ENDUROS...

Our best laugh, was after Old School's battery box came loose... We couldn't find any lag bolts to hold the battery box in...So, someone noted that Pat's seat had a lot of lag bolts holding it in, we took a few lag bolts out of the seat...About 30 minutes later Pat's seat comes loose....and Pat is flying all over the inside of the boat...

Hind sight, maybe we shouldn't have used THOSE LAG BOLTS....

Seems "WHISKERS" (Wiskers) claimed to have hit something in the water about like a seat, and knocked a hole in the boat....When Ben came by our pits, later, after the race and looked in Pat's boat......and there was no seat...We said, "Hell it blew out about ten laps into the race..." Truth was, we didn' lose the seat...and Ben was out before we had seat trouble...

Chad drove a fine race in BMB Storage #34.... We only had two boats in Division III so, we were moved to Division IV, and we managed to win Division IV and finished 4th overall....

The race didn't end 15 minutes early, we started 10 minutes later than our handy cap time because we were moved to Division IV, and the race ended maybe 15 minutes early because the lead boat was DQ'd....I feel very bad that anyone was DQ'd as I know these people and an honest mistake (s) were made... I guess the work Inboard was read, but no one quite saw V Drive....OR....I don't know what happened...(Truth is #17 could not have made up 8 laps in 30 minutes.....anyway)...

There was a large crowd of spectators, and a large field of boats. Largest field we've had in the last three years...I think there were 50 entries....

Fred Bowden was planning to Co-Drive with Al Stoker...They had some early engine problems, then they broke a gas tank...Fred did test on Friday...and as I left his house Friday night, the grin was still wide from his "RIDE"..... Todd Bowden vowed to run a NEW STOKER in 2008....

I did not talk to anyone who didn't say they would NOT be back in 2008....So, 2008 will be bigger....

Congratulation to #555 on a great run. #48, John Lane and JohnRoth, second two years in a row!!!! #17 Gray Hairbanian.....great run for third...

The twin engine Hydrostream failed to show...Their crew and divers where there...seems spped wasn't there!

Engine couldn't hang at 5300-5500? We turned 5600-6000 all day long, with out an issue! I think you need to look for a new engine builder, might have better results next year.

What the heck is that all about... We ran almost all day, and the only part of the video the 918 boat is in is me getting towed back in after the battery blew out...

I still can't believe that we ended up third in Div. V even with that!!!

Thanks everyone for a great race... I had a blast!!!

Does anyone have a list of the overall finish yet??? I know I didn't crack the top 10, but I'm still curious where I finished overall and how many laps everyone ran...

Thanks!

Steve...

What the heck is that all about... ...

(or lack there of) in specific and the stuff that breaks in an endurance race that you never expect in general.

I get to a point, when I drive to the river, I ask myself why I head back to the coast....? Thursday while heading to Parker, I was just "BLOWN AWAY" at how pretty the desert really is... Looking at some of the pictures from The Blue Water Resort and Casino 300 made me think, that PARKER is a beautiful place to be, and we are lucky we aracing racing there!!!!

When I saw Bowden's big rig, Nordic's big rig, Mike Avila's big rig, Life Line Jacket's big rig and about twenty our nice looking rigs and boats, I thought what Pat Bowman had said earlier in the dasy...and that quote was, "The days of winning The Blue Water and Resort Casino 300 with a SMALL BUDGET is OVER..."

BUT,the goal of No boat left behind should stay the motto....as Many teams are still grass roots!!!! Blue skys, beautiful water and FRIENDS, AMILY and FUN!!!!

Top pictures:

Ron Wilson driving his Seebold, "Traders", picture is in the men's restroom at Stroke's restaurant next to BMB Storage in Parker...Hill Racing's trailer used to be "TRADER's" trailer...

Second picture is Amada Rich, driver of Herbie the Love Boat #53, telling me she's ready to race at Parker, Thanksgiving weekend...She has a soponsor besides mom, dad, and me...Frank Marrone and Sons help her too!!!!

Third picture, is Chad Hill saying, "Well maybe driving the whole race wasn't THAT smart...".

I wasn't referring to your comment, and didn't mean to make it seem that way (when I used your quote, I actually expected to see the video link in there as well)... I was joking about the video itself because the only time I could find myself was at the end of a tow rope, even though we actually ran most of the day...

I know Warpath (Avilla) was flying when it was out there, but I didn't see a boat faster than that #55 when it was actually running... Al said after the race that he didn't think he'd ever had more stuff break all at once than yesterday...

I don't believe a big budget is necessary to win this race... With the idea of different start times in this race it puts a healthy offset in there for the lesser crews & boats... If it was an all out race then it would be the expensive big dogs running out front only. We broke twice this weekend. 1st was a broken rocker arm. I was told during the time we assembled this motor that comp cams was having a heat treat issue with a batch of rockers... I kind blew this off but now I am thinking they will all come off & go back for evaluation. The 2nd problem we had was hitting something in the water that really tore up the bottom of my boat. This is part of racing & why not everybody wins or finishes. I had a great time & hope that everybody involved did too... good times, good memories & can't wait to do it again next year!

Of course we will have to R&D lots more so I can finish off the rest of those nazi string pullers!:D

Yes we had a great time as well. I saw "WHISKERS" do a crazy chine dive/hop thingy. Looked a bit scary from my view as I was going by in my rope start outboard. Good Times!

Had a great time at the Parker 300. Watching all the boats haul *** and battle for 4 hours was very cool. Minimus you worked hard the whole weekend, sorry about your bad luck. I truly think Whiskers had a chance at taking the Checkered flag. Thank you very much for the dinner Friday night. Your dad was very hospitable. You have a beautiful family there.
Congrats to Ron Hill and Ross Wallach on a great race. I will be there next year in a boat for sure. I want to thank Ted Kolby for having me as one of his drivers. Joey Cucci and Rod were great teammates and I enjoyed the hell out of it. If any of you have never hung out with Ted's crew, make it a point to get to know these guys. Great people.
Ron Hill, it's on for next year!!;)
