I received a box full of old racing memorabilia that came from John Dortch by way of Paul Christner.

There were several old NOA Rooster Tail magazines in it. In the early 60's The Rooster Tail would have a drawing of a well-known driver. If you could guess the name of the driver, you would win a prize. I think the drawings were by Teri Fox. Not for sure if she was related to Claude Fox or not.

Thought it would be neat to post three of the drawings and see how many of you can name that driver. Your prize here will be that you get to see these old drawings from the past!

Will post the answer on Sunday and post the picture of the second driver.

Here is the first driver.

I figured some of you old timers would know Mr. Dick Pond. So here's the second drawing. Let's hear your ideas on this one.

Freddie Goehl

I don't know who it is supposed to be, but it looks like Freddie.

I think you guys are right. The C-3 on the helmet got me down the wrong track.

I say Freddie is the mask man.

I think the artist put C-3 on Freddie's helmet to try to throw people off like it did Tim at first.

Yes, the drawing is Freddie Goehl.

This is the last drawing that I have scanned for now. Will try to do some more later on.

I think everyone should recognize this driver. He is quite a character ! Here he is.

Art,
Is it the father of my very good friend John Dortch II?
