Every time I see one of those videos I can't help but think how crazy those guys are! Do they get to make a slow run or something like that before they race to check for rocks and things like that? I was thinking it was something like rally racing where they draw a map or something for the navigator to signal the driver??

The racers are mandated to show up Fridays to preview the rivers. One chatch though their not allowed to run the race boats only personal crafts. The river levels constantly change too, so what might have been a good line yesterday might get you a quick trip to the bottom of back on the trailer. Almost all of the racers have run these river courses so much they know where the hazards lie. It's when their only a few seconds behind the leader they push their equipment to the limits.

Great Video. Rougher conditions than we had running back on the courses in NY on Long Island with a SW wind on the Great South Bay.:D
