Mission accomplished Frank?

Did you get the serial number?

You know it's going to have my DNA all over it when you get it!

jeff,

sent you a pm with the contact and left you a message at your work. the serial number is fb166. i'll write paul and get the scoop. thanks for your help. Let me know the shipping details and costs for the shipping and your pickup service. what's gas going for up there? it's just plain stupid down here. you need to buy gas in the morning before it goes up in the afternoon.

Jeez, my instructions were not to let the proverbial cat out of the bag but Frank let the whole herd out.....

Frank, I really think you need to buy my truck to haul all that stuff around :D I'll sell it for book not taking into account the in-dash navigation or DVD player

dave,

i bet i could haul a lot of stuff with your truck. but with the price of deisel i'm thinking of getting a trailer hitch put on the vette. gas is cheaper and i can use mid grade and still get 30mph on the highway. wonder what the trailer would do at 120:)

you should have come up last weekend. we could have played 'denton'. just like it did all those years at denton..... IT RAINED.

tranquility base.... have a safe flight home..... will have national coverage of your landing.

jeff.... funny you used the space program lingo.... my brother-in-law went up in the space shuttle 2 times. his first name is roger and the crew did the routine from the movie 'airplane' with the 'roger' skit..... houston failed to see the humor in it. the crew thought it was funny. he also got in trouble floating by the camera during a live feed with a teddy bear sticking out of his flight suit my sister gave him:) they let him go up again. but the funniest thing that happened was after the second flight and being in space for 15 days he came back and the first night back had to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night..... well for 15 days he floated there..... well he forgot where he was and fell out of bed. my sister asked him what happen and he explained to her. she said welcome to gravity. all true stories.

thanks for all your help jeff. you da man!

I took the elbows off, and removed the powerhead from the tower tonight. I also oiled the cylinders cause' they seemed very dry.
The upper cylinder dosn't have the compression that the lower one does.........hope it's just something simple like a stuck ring.
Noticed that someone stamped "PRO B" on the upper cylinder too.

Going to box her up tomorrow. I'll line the box in a garbage bag, them put all the parts and the rest of the engine in another bag, then spray foam all around it so it'll arrive to you in one piece. I'll remove all the fragile things I can from the powerhead to aviod any breakage.

I'll ship it DHL on Monday. :)

jeff,

thanks for everything. sounds like the package would survive anything.

let me know what the damages are on monday.

hope it is just a stuck ring. if it's been sitting for a while it may be. i'll perform sugery when it arrives.

does it look like it had a lot of dried castor inside?

No it dosn't at all. Looks like whoever put them away last had a brain.

I think for the price, you got yourself a great lil' B Frank!

For those who might be wondering what's going on here........I located a B Looper up here in Canada.

I knew Frank was looking for one, and gave him the info to contact the owner, which he did. He made the deal, and I went to pick it up today for him.

So why did this seemingly Quincy Crazy Kanuck let a looper pass him by?
I really have my heart set on either a C or a D, and I know......given a bit of time and good luck, my time will come. I have already contacted someone I know who has a C, and is thinking of letting it go after he completes it (NO! It's NOT Frank!! He has the sickness BAAAAADDDD!) I asked him to let me know, cause I'm first in line!

Enjoy it Frank! It was my pleasure.............BTW--Doug says he has a friend who has two more B's! For sale??? Who knows, but a phone call might do the trick.

A Z, B or D myself. In an ideal world, I want a beast, and I know where one's at.....

maybe one day i could get a 6 cyl looper... the mother of all engines. who would need fireworks on the 4th of july, just fire a 6 up and wait for the cops to arrive:) could convert it to run on gas and fire it up at new years and have a sound and light show.

Frank I think you are more likely to be able to find 2 D's and make a 6. Since its not really for racing, I guess you could make a 45 ci from 2 C's as well.

Frank: You get more than some errant Cops these days! Try a city counsellor, his daughter, people running for their lives off docks who were fishing! One Cop in one episode emptied his slurpee on my towcar's windshield! One Geezer had his Irish Setter dog pee on my car's front wheels, both sides! On the other side of the river there is a 4 lane highway, people on it switched lanes thinking something was shooting at them nearby not from some boat launch 1/4 mile across the river at the city north end boat launch! BUT!! A Quincy Loop 6 sounds so much better than a 4......so much better! With one of those its behind bars and keys thrown away! :)

hi all,

i have found a place to run the looper!!!!! i have found one of the sponsors of an amoci wet meet that does allow loopers and other vintage outboards with open exhausts. he hosts 2 meets each year. i won't be ready for the first one but will be for the second. although i hope to show fc52 on the 17th.

Hi Frank- Keep us posted on either showing or running your loopers. Make sure who ever covers the AOMC meets in your chapter gets pictures in the Outboarder.:)

I bought a A/B Looper crankcase and need a block for an A. I have the pipes, heads coils, point setup and the flywheel. Anyone want to sell an A or B Looper block. If you have a B I will need pistons and rings. Also would like to get a late style set of megaphones. apvw1@aol.com
