The inboard rules for the DIV I boats originally required all small blocks to be naturally aspirated and equipped with OEM two barrel carburetors. If an OEM 2 BBL was not available it could be replaced with a Holley 2300 series carb. The OEM two BBL got shuffled over to the Holley 2300 which would make it redundant since the 2300 series is a 2 BBL. The rules will be corrected to reflect this error. ALL Division I inboards will in accordance run 2 BBL carbs, either OEM or Holley 2300 series. Sorry for the inconvenience. If you prefer to run a four BBL, you are invited to run in Division II. :) Rod

Just trying to keep this correction on top for a few days--I looked up the original rule and found that 4 bbl carbs would be allowed on a V-6 or 4 cyl. inboards in Division I. V-8 engines must run the OEM two (2) barrel or a Holley 2300 series only. The final rule will be corrected and published within a day or so. In the mean time, I have my own problems. The HST is delaminating, my engine has very little break in time and there is very little space in California to test--cost me 100 bucks for 5 minutes last Tuesday. Drop it off the end of the ramp (low water), fire the engine, engine quits, boat fills up with water, pay your money and head for home to find out we got problems with the Div. I race rules. Have a nice day and keep a smile :) Capnzee

The correction to the Division I inboards has now been posted. I would recommend that all competitors planning on racing the 300 review the rules that apply to their class in addition to the general rules including the applicable safety rules. Re-introduce yourself to the "red zones" and hopefully any misunderstandings can be covered before the drivers meeting. Questions that can be asked prior to the driver's meeting will certainly shorten the length of time spent reviewing rules at the meeting. Donot ask for rule changes at the driver's meeting! The start times will remain as posted. All boats will be scored according to laps completed at the end of the race. A boat does not have to be running at the end of the race, but will be scored based on the laps completed. :) Capnzee
