Grumpy 1 Bud and Virginia Allerton's Boat

It has been a real pleasure knowing the Allertons over the last 16 or so years. To see them in Valleyfield in July with all their Canadian fans was really a sight. A couple of thousand, (not kidding, at least a couple of thousand), "Grumpy" fans stopped by our pits to say hi, give them each a hug, and a kiss on each cheek French type greeting, take pictures of their kids with the "Grumpy boat" and treasure the handout pictures like the one Ron posted here. It seemed as though they knew the whole town. If there was ever a couple of true American inboard racing Ambassadors, that would be the Allertons......Ray
