:eek:cant say i have but im looking foward to it:D:eek:
Looks like an old race picture. I did that (pulled wrist pin out of piston and killed the block) on inline 6 Mercurys when I was racing. Nothing to look foward too.
I'm thinkin the driver could have felt that before it happened. Had to feel it lean down or start shakin or something!
I did that with a Quincy B a long time ago and there was nothing but a big bang. Luckily the cylinders were facing back or I would have been covered with shrapnel. At WFO there usually isn't alot of warning.....................
Guess I've never blown one up that I didn't know it was coming?? Dad taught me to listen and feel. There are cases where one just explodes but that motor lost power long before all that sh!t happened.
Usually By The Time You Feel It Lean Down It Is Way Too Late.:d
Maybe so but I've only blown up one and I knew it was gonna go but I was told on the radio to "let it blow". The other 5 or 6 times I shut it down with very little damage to the piston.
Could just be something that was preached to me about seat of the pants driving.
If you race, you are an optimist. That little vibration will clear up!!:D
I felt my 250 "going away" two years ago at Raleigh and decided that a donut in the infield would clear things up. I had to put the fire out with water when the loose fly wheel melted all the plastic components on the ignition.
