Switzer Wings??
Did they run Sport J class at this race?
Mark N
Yes, that's right ... 9 Switzer Wings.
I don't think the Sport J class had been invented yet. I think what became Sport J was just called S at that time ... Single
... I think the Wings ran in Twin, Unlimited or Experimental, depending on what engines they had.
The first "J" engine was the Merc 1100. It was introduce in either '66 or '67??? It was legal in SJ and JP. I ran JP in '67. S Class was Unlimited Single Engine.
The 1100 was introduced in '66. S class was unrestricted, 100 ci max. built in the USA running on pump gas
John Sherlock, #284, won the SJ Class at Havasu,, the year 19??
The race was four hours, one day, one stop for fuel.
Grandpa Seebold won the calcutta with Sherlock's first place.
I am putting together a 21 Glastron Molinari and need two of these,, no not the Johnson !
I can get you started ... John Taylor here on BRF has one
Thank you Sam..........
