Wayne, I sure hope you DO NOT ever get to the end of your pictures, as they are priceless!!!!! How did you ever find the time to take them all? ;)Quote:

Still have a lot of stuff from DePue 74. Just been trying to scatter things around. Don't have much hydro stuff as I was racing in the hydro classes. If you remember we had cold, wet and windy weather along with low water. The water depth only averaged 28" and drivers were told to test at their own risk. There was a lot of propeller and lower unit damage. The approach area to the start was was tightened up due to low water. The only finals run Saturday were M and C service runabout. The officials decided to run one heat 5 lap finals for remaining classes Sunday. Because of that, I don't have as many racing pictures as I normally would for a nationals, but I got a lot of pit stuff, including a rock skipping contest between me and Denny Henderson (nothing else to do while we waited). BTW that was the first article I wrote for Powerboat.
Pit shots would be a lot of fun to see... any chance you could repost or link us to the article you wrote?
I'll post it later. Got to give up the computer now.
Wayne it looks like V-99 is rookie Todd Brinkman, how time flies, Duke
You're right Duke. I look at these photos & time suspends all my racing friends, then Joe Rome sends me current photos & some I recognize and some its tough. Like that post telling about Marcel Bellville and Jimbo McConnell talking & didn't recognize each other.
Well---here goes that 1974 Powerboat article. Don't know if it's sized right, but BRF encourages learning new computer skills. (Hope there is no copyright infringement--Huh...Ron...Ted?)
That was great Wayne ... thanks
Thanks, Dr. Thunder. Here's more from DePue 74. Now I'm wondering if you have any stories to go along with that event? Do you remember anything about the guy in the water with a litter?
