Fa-60
Alright so I unzipped the caster locked FA-60 engine and found a couple surprises. It appears it had new or really close to new pistons and a beveled crank. But what REALLY threw me off was chromed rods... I quit for the night before I split the rods from the crank so I didn't 100% confirm that they were chromed and not just highly polished.
So my question that can likely only get answered here is; Was Chrome Plating rods something that was often done on these engines?
Pictures to come,

Hey J Dub, I have seen a lot of Flathead stuff over the year and never new they would plate/ polish the rods. But your dad may have played with this. Are you sure they are chrome? Could be a light Nichol plate or just polished steel. Talk to you soon bud

Here are the rods in question. They appear to have been polished then chromed... What are your thoughts?

Boy does that bring back memories of Doc Bradley. When he built our A Flathead, he had a set of rods that looked exactly like that to go in it. Worked like a dream as during the five or six seasons we ran the motor, the only thing we did to it was change sparkplugs. Thanks, J Dub.

Those rods are definitely interesting.
What crank does the engine have in it? 20H, Mark 25? Just wondering. Thanks

Once I have this powerhead back together in a running condition, it will be for sale. If anyone has any interest, email me at JDub47R@Yahoo.com.
Thanks!
