If the ff 211.MOV and the other one are in red on your screen then a left click should open. Look to the lower left on your screen for the MOV to verify then left click on that lower left...
Here in the US the prop shafts are reduced to 9/16" and shear pin moved closer to prop nut so more available props can be used like 3 blade over the low performing Japan 2 blade. Check rules in Aus...

Would you please post issues 1977, 1978 and 1979 here like others in that decade in link below?

Thank you
For a 1997 15 hp I thought is was a 15 ci in displacement, I thought the old ones were the 1950's era 15 cu in engines. Your 1997 engine is 2.38" bore x 1.8" stroke and the total displacement is 16...
The Merc 15 cu in engines (KG4H) that were used to get 50+ had special streamlined quicksilver gear cases with 1:1 ratio and only forward gears and short exhaust mid sections, your service engine...
If your rig is light and can get aired out to reduce the water drag as much as practical the smaller dia higher pitch prop will give the best top end. If you go for fully ventilated with part of the...

Great info.
Total Tapped CR? Do you mean Total Trapped CR? Which I know as cylinder volume above the top of the exhaust port to TDC and is much lower than based on total cylinder volume...
Jeff
Like I said not familiar with forged pistons or if the 0.005 clearance is what is required for your engine, with forged I have been told warm up is critical so they do not stick.
Does...
Jeff
What piston skirt to wall clearance and ring end gaps did you use for the Wiseco's? Are these cast or forged? High silicon?
Not experienced with Wiseco's, don't have a dino and do not hog...

Great pics. That rocky shoreline looks rough to launch from.
Also share them here
What great pics and story of you time
Welcome, Those are very cool racers. Tell us your stories and yes to the more pics.
Your machinist knows nothing about blind bores I believe he used yours as a Beta test. What a jerk. Is he local or did you have to mail your block? If local why not bring it back and have him fix it...
Jeff
Yikes! will there be enough clearance when hot at 6000 rpm with some rod stretch?
The 5 to 10 offset why? He obviously didn't center the boring bar to the cylinder what a jerk.
"I...

Never knew that, how tragic to loose your Dad at such a young age and at a race meet that you were both competing.
Hope to see you at up coming AOMCI meets.
Peace to you
Pete
Next time get a different machinist. Started at +40 with the bar, not good.
When I had + 15 over bore work done on my 25ss with my great machinist in Orlando, who is expert with 40 years doing blind...
Run lots of oil like 25:1 and make sure the cooling system is in great shape and passages and all areas are free of scale.
Not good your machinist went 40 without your permission. Does he have lots...
Jeff
Just because Wiseco has 40 over does not mean that Mercury was willing to go there with there available oversize pistons. As I asked what was the max oversize that Mercury offered back then? ...
What is the largest oversize "Mercury" piston that was available back in 1975 for a over bore job? IMO that would define the max bore diameter with proper skirt clearance included.
How is this Swift coming along?
"------sounds like--------"? IMO mighty trusting. Has he done a lot of blind bores?
Jeff
What are the accurate measurements for bore out of round and taper of your block?
Depending on your budget and willing to ship the block there is a machine shop here in Orlando that does...

I assume by after market you mean fiber reeds? For your service engine the SS will do very well. Just make sure no pits or other bad spots on them. I am not familiar with the reed set up in your...
Thanks all, before heat I tried acetone on a cotton swab and several dabs to keep brass head area wet and it softened enough to loosen the tube.
Working on a NOS Tillotson KC16A (same design as KC15A and other KC's and KA's). The idle tube on these carbs are secured into the body from the factory with a hard reddish sealant on the threads....

Yep sad. In addition to for aft restraint need orbital launch restraint.
Some put bumpers at the front on these lake runner set ups. With race type trailers that are different than what is in this tread the stacking of boats is different to allow tie backs to the trailer....

Sent you a PM in response to your PM.
Note on the steering with tie back cable set up and 3.5" drum the effort to turn will be reduced but will take more wheel arc to go through a defined turn...

That is a nice restored Swift Big D and looks in great shape for the year. I do not know how to interpret the Swift serial #'s. My guess is a later Swift like 57 or 58 with the long front cowling ...

Service KG7 will be a slug for you on a 14" transom probably in the 30mph range, IMO not much thrill but a thrill for some I would spend money on a better engine for thrill? If you want closer to...
Lots of answers here and many preferences, most use the expensive West System epoxy that has several resin and hardener types available . I have used several including West. I like the simple 1:1 mix...

Finally got the computer to cooperate with uploading pics that failed yesterday, Ron Hill helped, thanks. Here are the Dutchman patch pics I did on my 4mm ocume hydro deck.
Pics came out of order...
With a short boat 8'-8" it is limited on the engine that will work. You mention KG7H (1952 - 1953) and 20H (1954 -1956), 20H more expensive of the two. The KG7H being older would be the better choice...
Here is a Dutchman patch I did on the 4mm Okume deck of my hydro.
#1 is cut out the bad area, shape of cut to suit
#2 provide support for the Dutchman patch, I preferred just strips epoxy glued....
