    "Old Timer" - Denis Berghauer lost his 17 yr old grandson Alec to a tragic motorcycle accident this past week. Alec was a 'chip off the old block' with his snowmobile, jet ski, 4 wheeler etc skills. Denis still lives on Lake Winnebago in Oshkosh just down from the Merten boys. His email is dberghauer@new.rr.com or 920-233-3592. I'm sure he'd be touched to hear from you.
    Neglected to mention that 'OB' - Mom Berghauer also passed away just a month ago now too. 93 years! She joined 'HB' - Harold Berghauer - on the exact same day May 18th - 18 years apart.
    She made sure that all the racers went to Sunday Mass in what ever city we were racing in. She was the 'red head' in the pits.

    I'm so sorry to hear this sad news. The Berghauer family's pain will be felt by all their friends here on boatracingfacts
    Since 1925, about 150 different racing outboards have been made.

    There are no words to describe the tragedy of losing a son and grandson. We will keep the Berghauer family in our thoughts and prayers.
