    Default Holt-Craft APBA Boats

Does anyone know the history of Holt-Craft boats? I raced a BU in the 1950's in south Florida and am curious about the builder and surviving boats, plans, etc.

If there's any interest, I will post a photo.

I ran a "B" class, double cockpit runabout, built, I think in 1955, some years back. The story, as I know it, is the boat was built at Miami, Florida by a man named Samual Holten, who later ended up in a mental institution. I dont know how many, or how long he built boats. I do know that Don Baldicinni raced one in Florida during that time period with a Merc MK20H & was a Champion in class with the rig. I think Don is still alive but do not know how to contact him, give it a try, I am sure he can tell you the history of the Holt Craft Boats.
