15hp mercury throttle travel issues

Making one out of stainless is perfect, need to make a few and advertise them, you can bet this has happened to loads of people, especially if a bit
heavy handed on the throttle grip..

Thanks for the reply - you were correct - the part in the tiller that the cable wraps around had broken and was pulling the outer cable instead of the inner - crappy plastic design so made a new one from stainless - seems to be working perfectly

Hey I know it?s been a few years since you had this issue and I?m glad you got it fixed. I believe I am having the exact same issues on my 2003 15hp Mercury. Would you happen to have any photos of how you fixed it or do you remember exactly which part you replaced? Currently debating whether just buying a new tiller arm would be easier than attempting to open it up and try and fix it. Any help would be appreciated thanks
