    Yes, I build two to three each year of that type engine. I have to build two in a couple weeks to go overseas.

    Mike, did you ever do anything regarding crank balance to adjust for the missing rods or just run it as is?

    I don't do anything with the crank, Static balance the crank and flywheel together. I do balance the rods end for end. The engine has a harmonic problem at 4000 and 8000. If you try to run at 8000, the engine shakes so bad the fuel in the bowl will foam and engine will run lean and stick pistons. I tell everyone DO NOT RUN OVER 7800. Also when we break in on the dyno I can not run engine at 4000

    That was for the OMC 56 ci. The Merc .5 V-6 required no crank changes or issues. That half a V makes a great running inline 3. Fun stuff

    What sort of speeds are guys seeing with them on a thundercat? Any idea of the finished weight of a 3 cyl version?
