I have a Merc Super Speedmaster Lower Unit that is left hand rotation (972LH) from around 1964. The waterpump faceplate is for only one crank rotation direction as it has just one discharge piecut. The way it fits on the lower unit puts the discharge piecut on the port side. Is this correct for a right hand (looking at the flywheel) rotation engine? I will be using a stock 1967 Merc 1100SS engine on my 12 Sande Ace runabout with the super speedmaster on a bonneville tower housing.
