Hi Tom. In May, 1991 I responded to a want ad and found this hydro in North Alabama at a yard sale. No motor but otherwise nicely equipped with Keller deadman and steering, etc. There was a switchbox and hi-tension coil on the transom. The name "Joe F Hydro" was painted on the side, and it bore the number F4 in black on the yellow bow. The bow canvas was duct-taped in spots so I removed it and inspected the structure, which was undamaged. Recovered the bow with aircraft Dacron and painted overall. The motor in the picture (above) is a stock Mark 30, which didn't do much for it. I saved up my pennies and bought a Mark 55H which I refinished and ran a few hours over the three years I had it. It would move pretty good with the 55H - pegged my 60 mph speedo. At 73 I got a little nervous at that speed and my wife got a lot more nervous. Anyway, I sold the motor and now only have the boat. It will have to find a new home soon. I'll probably put it on eBay this summer unless someone makes me an offer I can't refuse.

Never did find out who "Joe" was. I'm guessing it was run as an alky boat. Anyone have any ideas?

Here's a picture of it with the 55H. Cheers. JW in Dixie
