    Default Final Plans....

Well, Ted Kolby, Rod Zapf, Ross Wallach and myself met for lunch today, Ted bought, to go over the final plans for the Blue Water Casino 300...

Seems we'll have about 31 entries....about what we had last year. After last year's race, we really felt we'd have many NEW people off the street (River) come and run..It appears, that what we have is a "HARD CORE" group of boat racers, many ran last year or have run in the past...and a few co-drivers that are new, or at least haven't raced a ton...

We have at least three "IRON MEN" who plan to drive the whole race...

All plans are pretty well complete....the race is a GO!!!! (Prize money $10,000 will be paid in CASH)....

Look at Division V: John Lane/John Roth boat 48.....John Lane dad raced Parker, his number 48, was Dick Sherrer's MOD U number and was a past 9 hour winner...John Roth has a ton of time in a Stocker MOD VP, but hasn't raced much..

Boat 86: John Soares..driving it himself...John's dad and brother raced the Enduro many times....and John himself raced it in MOD VP..

Boat 34: Chad Hill and Pat Bowman.....Chad and Pat drove their MOD VP for the first time at Parker last year, and hav not been in the boat since....Though Chad has raced Formula Lights all season...Pat plans to drive, this boat, after the Enduro in Nostalgia, at the Thanksgiving Regatta, 2006...

It appears we only have three boats in Division v, as John Lane tells me Al James is going to run Division II, NO NOSE CONE, with his boat....

Point, I was trying to make, though, there will be a mix of drivers, with salt and pepper experience.....but trust me, when it is over, everyone will have had a great time...

Ross says he has like 12 rooms, that he can let go, if you want to come and watch, patrol or race...

POWERBOAT MAGAZINE will be covering this ENDURO....

    Questions:

Is that V-8 Outboard on the 21 Daytona running???

Is Lance Haselrig going to get an engine together?

Is John Bonicci and Wooten getting their boat together???

Well Ron I spoke with Rod yesterday & I will be contacting Joey Cucci to speak of these little racers he has... Problem I have is lack of drivers... I will hunt for a driver or 2 & then see about doing a revamp on one of those deals next week when we head up to parker...

Ron, I think you meant 3 boats in Division V. Division III, (inboards) have about 8 or more boats planning on racing. It is the outboards that can't seem to make the gate. The outboards carried Parker for so many years in the past but seem to have lost interest. With the high cost of engines, I thought Division I and II would be full, nice safe classes that run 70 to 80 mph, appealing to new drivers. Well, the purse is paying to the first 10 orerall to cross the finish line and is paying per class based on the number of boars registered. It will be pretty difficult to pay very deep in classes with only two or three entries. That would be division I, IV, & V. Currently Division I has 2 boats, Division IV (Ski racers who promised last year to support the race, hello) 1 boat, and Division V with 3 boats. Hopefully, through Ross' generosity in accepting late entries, we will get a few more boats between now and race day. We sure need more enthusiasm if we are even going to think about next year. Once again MAXIMUS, YOU ARE THE MAN! you have done more than your share and we all appreciate your efforts, I hope all of your boats are winners, right behind the BODYSNATCHER, GN-24 ! Rod

    Default Tony Lombardo..

If WE (you) got one of those Cucci Boat going, maybe Tony Lombardo could drive it...

Tony is a young STAR in kneeldowns, he also rides with he Cracker Boxes....Maybe, Bill and Kaye Boyes could bring him down from NoCal when they come...We could find him a room...

What does Joey think those little boats ned to get going???

It would have ben fun for all four of them to race....

Is the Jones running??? What prop....? The one you owe me for???? Don't worry, I've had a lot of cash flow lately, flowing out.....but.....

Mr. Wooten was offered a ride in another entry. The 98 is a no go.

Ron, if you, or anyone else is looking for a driver/co-driver, consider Mike Lee,(PS89), he lives in BHC and has all the gear and years of experience. He could probably be enticed to come down to Parker early Saturday morning, (no room needed), ready to run......Just a thought.....PM or call me for his number.......Ray 805 300 0012

PS: clean out your PMs..........my message was refused, I hope it was nothing personal.....

According to Joey, all the boats need to run, is a battery and larger fuel tank! Then of course the oil should be changed, the OMC water pump should be changed, spark plugs pulled, cylinders lubed, replace plugs and go. Carb may need to be looked at. I believe all work could be done in one day with a little help from a lot of people. If someone could get the boat to Parker by Wednesday, I would put a supreme effort towards getting it running--IT CAN BE DONE! Finding someone to make the effort is the big problem, finding a driver should be easy! Rod

    Default If somone needs help

I am planning on being in Parker Thursday. If someone needs help getting a boat together I will have the Hill Racing trailer put together and tools ready to work into the night. We have lights!! (You bring the beer.) Let me know if anyone needs help. If you post and I can't reply, it is because I'm still trying to get Chad and My boat done. Call me on my cell and I will meet up with you there or if you need anything while you are there.
