Dave Severson: Father of Hot Boat and Powerboat

Seems I ran across this picture of Dave Severson. He and Dick Clark had just raced The Rum Run in Long Beach, 1968. SandyKemp wrote the article about the race. Sandy and my brother started POPBRA (Pacific Offshore Power Boat Racing Association)....

Dave Severson started magazines: He started The World of Boat Racing, Hot Boat Magazine and Power Boat (POWERBOAT) Magazine. Seems he started another one ot two here or there. HE also made/published all the programs fpor the Outboard World Champonships at Havasu. Seems once he sold Power Boat to Nordskog, he went to work for like the AMericqn Motorcycle Association, and I lost track of him....

He and I always got along well. When he and Jerry Tidwell owned Power Boat Magazine, I wrote an OUTBOARD ARTICLE, June 1967....But, I was fird when the magazine was purchased by Nordskog and renamed POWERBOAT Magazine....It was business, no big deal to me...

Dick Clark raced and or worked with Betty Cook. I saw Dick Clark at Long Beach, last summer...

This was my article from the Marathon Nationals in Bay City, Michigan...I also wrote article for DePue and Essex, Maryland...That were never printed...
