Default Cesare Scotti in Sweden 1972..

I just found a Race Program from the ON World championship race in Skokloster, Sweden 1972.
On top of that a friend of mine have some pictures from that weekend.
Two of them show Cesare Scotti and his white #9 race boat with an Evinrude..

Click here and scroll all the way down to see Scotti..in his boat
Yes I did race there in the SE class.
The program is in Swedish but you can see all the ON drivers..

I see Werner is listed as driving a Schulze with a Chrysler. I thought stackers were not allowed in Europe. Maybe an engine without the stacks?

A lot of fun was had the year Nick did his Nassau / Miami races with the boats all shipped from europe.

I saw video of the wreck where he hit the point at Bristol 1982. He was thrown clear of everything and totally unhurt. Boat was destroyed. So, Happy Birthday!!

Good news for boatracing in the UK..
Nick Cripps and I raced here many times..

F2 returns to the UK after a 10 year absence

This is very good news..National Water Sports Centre, Holme Pierrepont was my favorite place for power boat racing in England

Nick walked away, but not actually un-hurt. He had a fractured leg. He ended up with one of those removable casts.

We were just in the process of rigging two new Hodges for him and Ted Jones in the states. (Remember the Bacardi boats) They were painted identical except for the driver names, numbers, and flags on the cowlings. The week after Nicks Bristol adventure we went to an IOGP race in Ironton Ohio. We had both boats on a stack trailer, but Nick's in reality wasn't ready. For the first day and a half of testing we told everyone Nick was going to take off the cast and drive. Then we would swap the cowlings back and forth while Ted tested his boat sometimes as Ted, and other times as Nick. Much humor ensued.
