I remember one race at Alex when I was riding with Bruce. We had a huge lead, Charlie was second, when the rotary valve jumped time. The thing slowed down alot, we had about one lap to go before the finish. Bruce was trying to get so low and back in the boat that he was below the front cowling. The problem was on the back straight he was lined up to the center turn bouy in 3&4. I waited as long as I could for him to realize that he was headed for the wrong bouy, hit him on top of the helmet and pointed to the first pin. We made a right turn to make the bouy and just barely beat Charley to the finish line. After all the years of driving, some of the most fun I had was riding in 1100 runabout with Bruce.

Those are the kind of finishes you never forget Craig.

Here is what I believe to be the photo of Dick Puma. I forget what he looks like, but it doesn't look like the passenger is really enjoying this ride.

Craig, while I was looking for the above pic I came across one at that same race in Springfield where it appears Bruce is demonstrating pinching the fuel lines. The next pic is from the Nationals at Winona, which is the one I think my notes refer to. Unfortunately Alan, I couldn't find any with you and Charlie

Default I think you're right Rusty

It Looks like Deanie Montgomery in the foreground of the first picture too. These were before my time and when I first met Louis Williams, he was racing a Fillinger hull in A runabout and had the number 14T. Joe was telling me a little over a month ago that Louis kept the number 14T when he bought Deanie's Fillinger. Deanie started and stopped several times during his career and I think this is probably an early 60's pic of him. Maybe Joe knows for sure. It may be that T 11 is Lee Little out of Dallas. Denny Henderson may know some of these.

    Default It Is Deanie

That Is Deanie In 14i. Deanie Got Out Of Racing For A Few Years And Louis Ran 14 T Out Of Respect For Deanie. He Also Ran 15t When He Bought Bobby Wilsons Boat 15t.

    Default Pro Nationals Alex 1983

Been awhile since I visited this. A few runabout pics. You can see the cast iron bridge spanning the Red River in the background of one pic.
