Was browsing E-Bay and came across this gearcase. I have never seen one like this for the 3 cyl. Stinger engines. Any input would be appreciated.

the bolt patern is not right for a Stinger mid, i'm thinkin v4, but i don't know for sure
This fits the V4 Johson Stinger, KC13R Evinrude, the Johnson Stinger GP and the Evinrude Super Strangler (KR15M)
Correct, it isn't for a 3 cylinder fishing/production "Stinger". Like Greg said, it fits the V-4 racing "Stinger" & "Strangler"Originally Posted by Fast Fred

6 Bids , winning bidder paid $300.00 + $75.00 shipping. Another OEM racing part saved from the scrap pile.
There is another Stinger/Strangler gearcase listed on ebay. These are pretty darn rare compared to the Merc racing stuff.
Same seller. Going for more $ so far. @ http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Racin...QQcmdZViewItem
Gearcases are 1:1 ratio with 3/4 in. driveshaft. Originally made for GT & X-115. KR-15M had larger crankshaft may have 7/8 in. driveshaft, can't remember.Originally Posted by Tomtall
I had experience of towing boat to Miami (1968) with first production 1:1. Guy in a Camaro was looking at race boat and bumped me at Chicago toll booth. He got a nice hole impression of prop nut and spline washer in his hood. Gearcase had no damage. Michael J
I know that some of these were aslo 13:16 ratios, as my dad had one. If I remember correctly, there were not many of them. He got it from Ted May.
