EARLY APBA HISTORY
Our local Marine Museum is writing a book on the history of the southern Maryland Boat Club in Region 4.
Any info on the early days of racing...late 1950 on thru would be very helpfull.

APBA started about 50 years before that and outboard racing about half way between in the mid 1920's. Solomons Island is "Johnny Come Lately" if you are starting at the beginning.
You want APBA Region 4 Stock racing history ... I'll change the title for you.
Side note ... according to Dave Augustine in the 1950's APBA was probably only about half of Stock and Akly racing in MD. The other half of the races were wildcat/unsanctioned. Dave says in the mid 50's-mid 60's decade there were races somewhere in MD every weekend from late April to September.
You should call Dave (he lives in Laurel) and Don Christie (lives just off of Harford Rd north of Baltimore or just inside the city line).

Since 1925, about 150 different racing outboards have been made.
