Thanks for the pictures and story Peer. I never saw these bikes. I only heard about them from Dieter and Hans. More pictures would be great. You did an excellent job on the restoration.

Peer also has a DVD of about 30 minutes length that basically tells the story of the Englishman who went to work for Dieter and helped to develop the GP bike and rode it in competition. I saw it in Fl. when there for Lake Alfred last month, and it is very interesting. Lots of commentary by his wife and friends at that time. He was killed on it at I believe the Isle of Man.. A real part of history regards the use of Konig engines in motorcycles.
PEER:
How are you DEADEYE???? Or is it COWBOY, I must have been full of beer when I gave you the nickname, cause I can't remember now which one you are and which is Thomas.
You can't always fall back on the beer for an excuse Bill Van.
Speaking of beer. Peer...do you remember the guy I told you about who was with Dieter when they saw us off at Tegel when Debbie and I were flying home in 1977? I told you it was about 9:00 or 10:00 in the morning and he was eating a cream puff like a "Berliner" and drinking beer. I saw him in a photo in the BMW Konig link. It was it was Ernst Milarch.
Wayne:
Beer is easier to remember how to spell. One less letter to remember.
But you are right. It could be something besides beer. Thank God the women still find me attractive. Now if I could just remember who they are!!
I can't figure out which letter you mean. Also you should get your eyes checked. I think the beer is causing you double vision. Joe and I were just lamenting the fact that my Dad was not still around. You could still give him lot's of laughs. BTW...don't buy any T shirts from Target!
Wayne:
FYI
BEERS (plural) is spelled with five (5) letters, one of which is used twice, which makes it easier to remember how to spell than YEARS, which also has five (5) letters but each one is used once, making the word YEARS harder to remember and spell than
Now I've lost my train of thought again, and a train is hard to misplace.
Re your Dad:
I am really sorry he is not around anymore either. I can think of some things, PRO commission wise, that would benefit from his "tender" touch, and he would really enjoy. He never suffered fools gladly.
Here are some more from the begining of the story.
The first one is Hans with an friend of us who died early caused by cancer.
On the small bike its me and Ulli Rochel i think you know Ulli he developed
the 8 Zyl. König straight line and became World Champ in 850cc.
The other pictures its me and Hans together.
Probably everyone knows now why I have to do this job its because all these memories about my father and Dieter who was like my second father.
Both were leading my way from a kid to a man.
My childhood was absolutely exiting.
In the next days I will put a few pictures about Ullis 8Zyl.König in BRF.
Hey Bill by the way probably you should start with wiskey than you
may remember that it was Dead Eye
Found these images by simply Googling 500cc Konig:
